The IV Investment Forum of the University of Barcelona (UB) is designed to promote the entrepreneurial spirit within the university community, offer support to entrepreneurial projects and facilitate connections between emerging companies and potential investment partners.
Throughout the day, a group of startups, formed by NeurekaLAB, YOUCards Collection, Dekines Workplanner, BlindStairs, Bambai, VRAIn, MAXSENS, CellFlow, ColorSensing and LogMeal, had the opportunity to present their projects to top-level investors, thus consolidating the connection between entrepreneurial talent and the capital necessary for its growth.
The investor panel was made up of entities from the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including AccelGrow, Business Angels Network Catalonia (BANC), ESADE BAN, Intelectium, Inveready and BHV Partners. These institutions not only provided their experience and knowledge, but also the possibility of financing for those proposals with greater development potential.
One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of the StartUB! Awards, a recognition of business excellence and the social impact of the startups incubated at StartUB!. On this occasion, the awards were awarded to three companies that stood out for their exceptional performance:
- Filmo, Scalability award.
- THead, Social Impact award.
- Omashu, Innovation award.
Those in charge of issuing the recognitions were Joan Corominas, President of the Social Council of the UB, Mercè Segarra, Vice-Rector for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Transfer of the UB and Lluís Juncà, General Director of Innovation, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
The IV Investment Forum of the UB has proven once again to be a fundamental space for promoting university entrepreneurship. With the success of this edition, the University of Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to entrepreneurship and the transfer of knowledge, inviting all interested parties to participate in future editions and contribute to the growth of the surrounding entrepreneurial ecosystem.
