StartUB! short story contest

Three categories are established: • Students: all people enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, master’s or doctoral courses at the University of Barcelona in the 2023-2024 academic year can participate in this category. • Technical, management and administration and services personnel (PTGAS): all people who have a PTGAS contract at the University of Barcelona in force on the day of presentation of the story can participate. • Teaching and research staff (PDI): all people who have a PDI contract at the University of Barcelona in force on the day of presentation of the story can participate. Each participant can submit a single story in a single category.

In each category, the prizes are: • For the winning story, two one-day tickets to Sónar and a batch of merchandising products from the University of Barcelona and StartUB! • For the finalist stories, a batch of merchandising products from the University of Barcelona and StartUB!

The stories must be unpublished and must have a maximum length of 300 words, not counting the title. They can be presented in Catalan, Spanish or English. The theme is free, but they must contain some reference to StartUB! and to its activity or its values, in the way that the author considers most appropriate.

The stories will be delivered through the form on this website. It is necessary to add a pseudonym to guarantee anonymity before the selection committee.

The deadline to submit stories ends on April 23 at 11:59 p.m. or when 60 stories per category are achieved.

A maximum of 15 finalist stories will be chosen per category.

The jury will be made up of teachers from the Faculty of Philology and Communication, staff from the Linguistic Services and members of StartUB!, among others.
