Innovation Day – UB

The I-Days are an initiative of EIT Health (European Institute of Innovation & Technology) that takes place in more than 24 academic institutions throughout Europe. Students and alumni from all academic areas receive an introduction to practical innovation tools and compete in teams to tackle real health challenges posed by Institut Català de la Salut (ICS), Glaxo and Fundació Fèlix Llobet. The winning team of each i-Day will attend the Winners’ Event in Budapest, a final competition that brings together students from all over Europe.

The purpose of this initiative is to encourage and promote innovation among students. Students will work in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030. The i-Day will also allow you to: – Acquire new skills: lateral thinking, analytical skills, use of innovative tools, etc. – Broaden horizons: share experience with students from different areas. – Address real problems: offer solutions to inclusion and sustainability challenges posed by the industry.

The activity will take place on November 7, from 9:00 to 18:00 at StartUB!. Both food and snacks will be provided by the organisation. Throughout the day, participants will work in groups, and will be supported by facilitators and experts who will teach them how to use tools to develop their innovative capacity.

– Anyone can participate. It is aimed at students/alumni, PDI and from all universities, faculties and academic areas to form multidisciplinary teams and enrich the group experience. – Participants can register as a group (indicating it in the registration form) or individually. In the latter case, they will be assigned a group on the same day. – No prior experience or knowledge is necessary.

The winning team will travel to Budapest on 28 and 29 November to attend the Winner’s Event, where the winners of the remaining 24 European editions will meet. The teams that come in 2nd and 3rd place will receive €400 in vouchers to spend at the L’Illa shopping centre.

You can register with a previously established group (4 people maximum) or individually (the organization will form multidisciplinary groups with other students). To sign up with people you already know, you only have to indicate the option in the registration form, in the corresponding section.

Click the “Sign up” button to enter the EIT Health Application Platform and register as “Individual-Student”. Once your account is activated, click on “i-Days Events” and click on “Apply Now” to the i-Days city in which you want to participate!
