V StartUB! Investment Forum
A unique opportunity to pitch high-potential projects and explore real investment opportunities
With the aim of fostering entrepreneurial spirit within the university community, supporting emerging projects, and bridging startups and spinoffs with strategic investors, we are launching the V StartUB! Investment Forum.
Description
The V StartUB! Investment Forum is an event designed to connect innovative startups and spinoffs with strategic investors seeking to support high-growth potential ventures.
It will take place on 28 May 2025, from 10:00 to 14:00, at StartUB! Les Corts, and will bring together entrepreneurs, business angels, investment funds, mentors, and other key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.
The forum aims to facilitate access to investment, promote knowledge and technology transfer, and connect entrepreneurial talent with real opportunities for growth and scalability. It also seeks to raise the visibility of emerging projects, foster synergies among ecosystem actors, and strengthen the links between universities, startups, the private sector, and the investment community.
Participation Requirements
Projects interested in participating must meet the following criteria:
• Submit their application between 20 March and 9 April 2025 (23:59 CEST) via the designated application form.
• Be legally incorporated.
• Be seeking investment in pre-seed (150K – 300K €), seed (500K – 1.5M €) or Series A (up to 5M €) stages.
• Have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or be in an advanced stage of development.
• Have at least one team member working full-time on the project.
• Include a pitch deck (URL format) in the application form.
Target Participants
This call is aimed at:
• Legally registered startups and spinoffs.
• Projects actively seeking funding with a validated MVP.
• Teams aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Ventures with milestones achieved and a clear growth vision.
• Founders with a dedicated, solid team.
Timeline
• Call opens: 20 March 2025
• Call closes: 9 April 2025 (23:59 CEST)
• Selected projects announced: 11 April 2025
Mandatory Bootcamps:
• 23 April (10:00 – 14:00)
• 24 April (11:00 – 14:00 and 15:00 – 18:00)
Investment Forum (Final presentations): 28 May 2025
• StartUB! – Les Corts, Barcelona
• 10:00 – 14:00
Training Programme (Mandatory)
Selected startups must take part in a structured training programme consisting of three sessions:
Bootcamp 1 – 23 April:
• Legal aspects of investment
• Preparing for future funding rounds
Bootcamp 2 – 24 April:
• In-person elevator pitch presentation (time slots assigned via email)
• Note: Attendance at all sessions is mandatory in order to participate in the Investment Forum.
Evaluation Committee
The selection committee will consist of members of the University of Barcelona, ensuring gender parity and representation from all areas of academic knowledge.
StartUB! Awards
Three special prizes will be awarded to outstanding projects representing key values of the entrepreneurial ecosystem:
• Social Impact Award
• Scalability Award
• Innovation Award
Through these awards, StartUB! aims to highlight and support startups leading the way toward a more sustainable, competitive, and innovative future.
