Participation in 4YFN 2026

StartUB! and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, with the support of the Vice-Rectorate for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer of the University of Barcelona, grant 16 start-ups and/or spin-offs the opportunity to participate in the international 4YFN fair with a stand for 2 consecutive days, between March 2 and 5.
This initiative, promoted by StartUB! and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, with the support of the Vice-Rectorate for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer of the University of Barcelona, is aimed at facilitating the participation of entrepreneurial projects emerging from the university community in the international benchmark fair for entrepreneurship and innovation, 4YFN, held annually in Barcelona.
The purpose of this call is to enable the participation of 16 start-ups and/or spin-offs in the 2026 edition of the fair, to be held from 2 to 5 March 2026.
The selected companies will have a space within the University of Barcelona’s stand for two days, during one of the established periods: either 2–3 March or 4–5 March 2026.
This call, aimed at facilitating the participation in 4YFN of entrepreneurial projects with social impact emerging from the university community —whether start-ups and/or spin-offs— is addressed to projects that maintain a specific and explicit link with the University of Barcelona.
Entrepreneurial projects arising from the university community that wish to apply must submit their application for a stand no later than 30 October at 24:00, via the following form:
Applications submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.
Conditions, requirements and obligations for participation in this call:
- Incorporated start-up and/or spin-off, regardless of its legal form.
- Entrepreneurial team including at least one member of the UB university community: student, alumnus/a, teaching and research staff, or technical, management and administration staff.
- Commitment and full availability to attend and be present at the 4YFN stand on the two assigned days (either 2–3 March or 4–5 March), particularly during the hours that will be duly indicated.
- Responsibility for submitting the required documentation within the established deadline.
- Ability to demonstrate that the company is already generating revenue, in the process of raising investment, or undergoing internationalisation.
- Participation in preparatory and training sessions prior to the event, to be held at the StartUB! facilities during January–February 2026.
When submitting the application, a declaration of compliance with the requirements must be provided.
- Degree of innovation.
- Explicit link with at least one Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
- Achieved milestones and objectives to be reached.
- Previous participation in support programmes for entrepreneurial projects at StartUB! and/or the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.
Participation in previous editions will be positively valued.
The Project Selection Committee will be composed of staff from StartUB! and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.
The Committee will ensure gender balance and representation from all areas of teaching at the University of Barcelona.

The purpose of processing personal data is to manage the call for participation in 4YFN.
The legal basis for processing personal data is the consent of the participants, which may be withdrawn at any time. The data collected are necessary in order to carry out the aforementioned processing.
Data will be processed for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected and to determine any possible liabilities arising from that purpose and from the processing of the data.
The recipients of the data are the University of Barcelona and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, and, where applicable, the data processors. Data will not be disclosed to third parties, except where required by law. In such cases, only the data strictly necessary will be shared.
Participants may access their data, request rectification, erasure, objection, portability or restriction, by writing to the General Secretariat of the University of Barcelona (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 585, 08007 Barcelona) or to the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (Baldiri Reixac, 2, 08028 Barcelona), or by emailing secretaria.general@ub.edu or dpd@fbg.ub.edu. A photocopy of a valid identity document must be attached.
Any person who considers that their rights have not been duly respected may contact the Data Protection Officer of the University of Barcelona (protecciodedades@ub.edu, Travessera de les Corts, 131–159, Pavelló Rosa, 08028 Barcelona) or of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation (dpd@fbg.ub.edu, Baldiri Reixac, 2, 08028 Barcelona). They also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Catalan Data Protection Authority.
The information collected will be available at all times for consultation by the University of Barcelona.
In any case, dissemination of results must always acknowledge StartUB! and the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation.
