What is the Innovation Day (i-Day)?
Innovation Day is an initiative of the European Union body EIT Health (European Institute of Innovation & Technology) in which students and alumni from various academic areas work together to solve current social challenges. This year’s UB challenges revolve around health, proposed by different public institutions and companies.
Description
Description
Innovation Days, also known as i-Days, promote health innovation among university students through dozens of one-day and two-day programmes held in academic institutions around Europe. Students from all academic areas receive an introduction to practical health innovation tools and compete in teams to tackle real-life health challenges posed by EIT Health, local organisations, private corporations or start-ups.
The winning team of each i-Day will attend the Winner’s Event, a final competition that brings together students from across Europe.
i-Days focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in healthcare. The goal is to equip participants with practical tools, training, and confidence in innovation, design thinking, and pitch coaching. Contributors such as inspirational speakers, start-up founders, judges, patients, facilitators and coaches all support participants in different ways.
Methodology
On 12 November, from 9:00 to 18:00 at StartUB!, participants will work in groups (maximum 4 people). Facilitators and experts will guide them, providing the tools to develop their innovative capacity. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
