The University of Barcelona, through StartUB!, has reached a significant milestone in its commitment to strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship.
We are proud to announce that StartUB! is now an official EIC Partner and has obtained certification as an EIC ACCESS+ Service Provider.
This recognition positions StartUB! within the European framework of support for startups and spin-offs, reinforcing our role as a bridge between the University of Barcelona’s knowledge and talent and the broader European innovation ecosystem. We join a select group of incubators and accelerators in Spain that are part of this partner network.
As a member of the EIC ACCESS+ network, StartUB! will deliver specialised services to beneficiaries of the EIC Pathfinder, Transition, Accelerator, Women Tech, and Seal of Excellence programmes, including:
- Incubation programmes tailored to science-based projects and business ideas.
- Business and growth plan development to ensure strong foundations for scaling.
- Customised internationalisation strategies to connect local innovation with global markets.
StartUB! already supports several EIC-backed startups and spin-offs that highlight the transformative potential of research-driven entrepreneurship:
- HumanITcare, now Vitalera – digital health monitoring solutions.
- The Blue Box – AI-powered device for early breast cancer detection.
- Mimark – biomarkers for improved diagnosis in women’s health.
- CellFlow – biotechnological solutions for cell analysis.
- Oniria – neurotechnology to enhance sleep quality.
- Nimble – sustainable and circular solutions for packaging.
These ventures demonstrate how innovative solutions, born at the intersection of science and entrepreneurship, can deliver tangible impact in health, sustainability, and society at large.
For StartUB!, this milestone strengthens our ability to empower researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators who are developing new science- and technology-based solutions. It also contributes to increasing the international visibility of the University of Barcelona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, reinforcing our connection with the broader European innovation landscape.
