Innovation Day – UB

Solve challenges with students from different UB faculties

The i-Day is an activity in which students from various academic areas work together to solve challenges facing society. It is held in 33 European centers between October and November 2022. This year’s challenges revolve around sustainability and health, which will be proposed by 3 collaborating companies.

All proposals will be evaluated by a jury, which will award €1,000 to the 3 best proposals. The team that wins the first prize will participate in the European Winners’ Event. The organization will cover travel and accommodation expenses in the selected city (the location will be confirmed soon).

– 1st prize: €500 + trip to the European city of the Winners’ Event (to be determined)

Goals
The purpose of this initiative is to encourage and promote innovation among students. Students will work in line with the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The IDay will also allow you to: – Acquire new skills: lateral thinking, analytical skills, use of innovative tools, etc. – Broaden horizons: share experience with students from different areas. – Address real problems: offer solutions to inclusion and sustainability challenges posed by the industry.
Methodology and date
The activity will take place on October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at StartUB! Both food and snacks will be provided by the organization. Throughout the day, the participants will work in groups, and will have the support of facilitators and experts who will teach them how to use tools to develop their innovative capacity.
This course is for
This activity is aimed at students from all universities, faculties and academic areas to form multidisciplinary teams and enrich the group experience. No previous experience or knowledge is necessary, anyone can participate.
The challenges
They will be challenges related to sustainability and health, and will be raised by 3 collaborating companies.
Prize
The jury will award three prizes to the best proposals: – 1st prize: €500 + the winning team will participate in the European Winners’ Event, together with the winners of the other 33 editions. The prize includes accommodation and travel to the event (location still to be confirmed) – 2nd prize: €300 – 3rd prize: €200
