Last November 4th, the Universitat de Barcelona actively participated in the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit through two complementary initiatives. On the one hand, as part of the De la Ciència al Mercat program, former students took part in the Pitch Corner of the event to share the evolution and impact of their entrepreneurial projects. On the other hand, spin-offs and startups linked to the UB competed in the official competition of the event, managing to place among the five finalists thanks to the proposal of Additive Spaces.

Later, within the Summit program, the official startup competition was held, in which various initiatives linked to the UB participated. In this context, the Additive Spaces project managed to place among the five finalists of the competition with a proposal focused on sustainable innovation in construction processes and materials through additive manufacturing.

In addition to the competition, the event included different spaces for dissemination and networking. As a complementary activity, and within the framework of the De la Ciència al Mercat program, former students from previous editions presented the progress of their entrepreneurial projects in the Pitch Corner, sharing experiences about the process of transforming research into solutions with real application.

The presence of the Universitat de Barcelona at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit was articulated through the Fundació Bosch i Gimpera and StartUB!, bringing together a selection of entrepreneurs from different fields, styles, and categories.

Among the other initiatives from the UB that also stood out were:

  • Zeuus: AI agents for the telecommunications sector.
  • Bambai: smart IoT solutions with multi-sensor detectors (humidity, temperature, movement, gas, sound) and connectivity for security, environmental monitoring, and fire prevention in domestic, industrial, and mobility environments.
  • BlueGreen Vision: technological solutions for environmental conservation and the recovery of species and natural ecosystems.
  • GÜIPUP (Copailot): business expansion supported by AI and expert training.
  • Lexy: AI to optimize digital communication in the health sector.
  • WardUs: a mobile application designed to improve personal safety and promote civic solidarity.

From proposals designed to improve the telecommunications sector to projects focused on protecting environmental conservation, the presence of all these initiatives reflects how the innovative ecosystem of the Universitat de Barcelona continues to transform day by day into real solutions with social and technological impact.
