One more year StartUB! organizes Let’s UB!, a day dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship that promotes synergy between the entrepreneurs of the university and the business ecosystem of Barcelona. The event will take place on May 23 at 3:30 p.m. in the Edifici Històric of the UB, and its main objective is to make visible the talent of the UB community and generate synergies between the projects and other agents of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
During this day, various activities will be carried out that will offer learning and networking opportunities for the participants, including:
- Chat with Meritxell Teixidó, CEO of Gate2Brain: “Gate2Brain: an entrepreneurial adventure that jumps out of barriers”. Meritxell Teixidó, biomedical researcher, will share her experience in the development of new technologies to overcome the blood-brain barrier and improve drug delivery to the brain. Her innovative vision and her ability to overcome obstacles have earned her the Women Startup Awards 2022-Inspiration (Spain).
- III Fòrum d’Inversió Let’s UB!: This forum aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit within the university community and facilitate access to financing for entrepreneurial projects. Twelve innovative companies (Benesit, Evix, Dekines, Lexy, NZero, Filmo, Omashu, Ludens Projects, Neu Boots, Saluderint, Scratch Jr Tactile / Sistema Head, Virmedex) linked to the UB will present their projects to the investment ecosystem, in order to to establish connections and obtain financial support.
- Workshop d’Introduction to the Innovation Toolkit: A workshop aimed at teaching and research staff (PDI) of the University of Barcelona, where key skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and creativity will be taught using the Innovation Toolkit.
- “Zombi Technologies: Sustainable Innovation and Marketing in the Anthropocene”, with Mathieu Alemany Oliver, associate professor of marketing and consumer culture at TBS Education
At the end of the day, the prizes will be awarded to the outstanding projects of the StartUB! Sprint program and the companies incubated in StartUB! in the categories of Social Impact, Scalability and Innovation.
